The 37th Congress of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (IULTCS) is set to take place in Chengdu, China, from October 17 to 20, 2023. With the theme of "Innovations to make leather irreplaceable," the Congress will bring together experts to discuss and exchange ideas on the following eight important aspects: advances in leather science basic research, sustainable technologies for leather manufacture, novel strategies in high-efficiency and intelligent leather processing technology, innovations in leather chemicals, comprehensive utilization of leather waste, analytical and test methods for leather and leather goods, sustainable development of leather industry, and design intelligence and productivity improvement in footwear and leather products.

The Congress is organized by China Leather Industry Association, hosted by the College of Biomass Science and Engineering in Sichuan University, and will be held as a hybrid conference so that attendees can attend the Congress virtually from anywhere or even opt to visit the physical venue. However, overseas leather scientists and technologists are still encouraged to attend the meeting in person and engage in face-to-face communication.

Interested delegates can register for the Congress on the official website (www.iultcs2023.org) and should note that registration is only possible through online registration. An "early bird" discount is available for those who complete the registration payment before Oct 7, 2023. To facilitate the submission of the Congress papers, a submission channel has been opened on the official website. Delegates can download the paper format requirements after registration.

June 15, 2023: Abstract submission deadline

July 15, 2023: Notification of accepted abstracts as oral or poster presentations

September 15, 2023: Deadline for submission of full papers and posters
