The award ceremony of the 2022 Globe Student Design Competition for Real Leather, Stay Different （RLSD）in Mainland China was held in Shanghai on September 21. Representative from the organizer, Sothmann, president of the Leather and Hide Council of America, Chen Zhanguang, vice chairman of the China Leather Industry Association made their online speech on the event. Mr. Hansen, Director of the Agricultural Trade department of the United States Consulate in Shanghai, and Ms. Liu Peifang, the representative of competition judge in the Mainland China, attended the ceremony as award-giving guests.

Real leather. Stay different. International Student Design Competition 2022 in Mainland China is organized by the Leather and Hide Council of American, and supported by China Leather Industry Association, sustainable leather is encouraged in this year’s competition, the entries should meet the basic requirement of not less than 50% leather and other natural materials used in their design. As in previous years, the entries are divided into three categories: leather clothing, shoes and leather goods.

This year's competition in mainland China launched in January has attracted wide attention from the industry and media. As of May 31, the organizer of the competition has received nearly 900 valid entries. At last the final four won the competition with selection by judge group.

The student Dong Yuntian, from Donghua University, won the championship of mainland China with his work of “OCTOPUS”, zhuang Yawen won the clothing award for the his designed work, Cao Libin won the footwear design, who is From Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, and Dong Yuntian, from Donghua University, also won the leather goods award for his work of “OCTOPUS”, in addition Best Art Appreciation Award went to Pan Yingying, from Donghua University, for the designed work of “FOLD”.
