Uzbekistan has earned around $21.4 million exporting 15.3 million pairs of shoes in the first seven months of the year 2022. During the period, the Central Asian nation had been involved in footwear trade with 18 countries. The volume of footwear exported went down by 1.3 million pairs as compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
The countries to which Uzbekistan exported the most shoes from January to July 2022 were Kyrgyz Republic (7.6 million pairs), Tajikistan (3.5 million pairs), Kazakhstan (3.5 million pairs), Russia (334,000 pairs), and Afghanistan (312,000 pairs), according to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.
Moreover, the regions in Uzbekistan that exported the most shoes to foreign countries from January to July 2022 were Andijan ($9.2 million), Samarkand ($4.8 million), Fergana ($4.7 million), and Tashkent ($1 million).
