Professor Zhang Yang born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in April 1929, passed away on September 5, 2022 and at the age of 93. Zhang has been engaged in scientific research and personnel training in leather chemistry and engineering all his life. He has written many textbooks and monographs and won many national, provincial and ministerial science and technology awards. Because of its outstanding contribution to the development of Chinese leather education and leather science and technology, it was awarded the title of "China Leather Industry Science and Technology Forerunner" by China Leather Industry Association in November 1998.
