The Innovation Center of High-end and Eco Footwear and Apparel Manufacturing in Quanzhou city (hereinafter referred to as "Innovation Centre") was selected as provincial manufacturing innovation center.

Supporting by China Research Institute of Leather and Footwear, the "Innovation Centre", jointly established by upstream and downstream enterprises, scientific research institutes, universities and industry organizations, is an innovation platform to meet the needs of innovation and development in the manufacturing sector, highlight collaborative innovation, and focus on cutting-edge technologies and key generic technologies in footwear industry.

The main points of the Innovation Center will be on two tasks, the first is "generic key technologies", and the second is "service platform". On the "generic key technologies", it will focus on the research and development of high-end and ecco footwear and clothing new products, new technologies, new equipment and new systems, making the breakthrough the technological bottleneck on the innovation and development, and supplying the frontier and generic key technology for the footwear and clothing industry. On the "service platform", the center set up 13 sub-branches for providing the overall services to the footwear and apparel industry on new materials, 3D digital technology, high-end equipment and intelligent manufacturing, as well as comprehensive technical services.

The Innovation Center plans to build a complete set of laboratories for technology research, analysis and testing, quality inspection, as well as pilot application development system, so as to enhance the capabilities of industrial science and research, collaborative innovation, promotion of industrialization and commercial application. The Innovation Center will play its role on strengthening the competitiveness of the footwear and apparel industry in Jinjiang city, and earning more sharing of market.
