Chinese sportswear group Anta, the official activewear partner of the recently concluded Winter Games in Beijing, has revealed that its full-year revenues were boosted 39% year on year in fiscal 2021, achieving $7.7 billion or ¥49.3 billion.

The Jinjiang-headquartered company posted growth across all its brands, including banner brand Anta, whose revenues were up 52.5% year on year to reach $3.7 billion, plus Fila, which recorded 25.1% year-on-year growth to achieve $3.4 billion in revenue.

It gathered its other subsidiaries, which include Descente and Kolon Sport in mainland China and Hong Kong, under a segment titled “all other brands” (up 51.1% year on year, generating $548 million in revenue).

Discussing Anta’s strategy in the wake of the added exposure generated by Beijing 2022, group chairman, Ding Shizhong, commented: “We are not only committed to globalisation in terms of market position, brand layout, value chain composition and governance structure, but also committed to continuously enhancing the leading advantage of our brands and showcasing Chinese brands to the world.

“We see a broad market with huge potential in China’s sportswear industry and only companies that can meet the demands and experiences of consumers, take initiative to fulfil social responsibilities and continuously optimise business efficiency can ‘Lead to Win’ on the future.”

In other recent news, Anta has announced plans to construct the first-ever Fila-branded hotel hand in hand with Hyatt Group earlier this month. Currently scheduled to open its doors in 2024, the enterprise, named Fila House, will form part of the group’s new headquarters in Shanghai’s West Hongqiao business district.
