Sports Goods Group of Anta, China's largest sports goods group, released its 2021 financial results on March 22. According to the report Anta's revenue rose 38.9 percent year on year to 49.33 billion yuan, maintaining the eighth consecutive year of revenue growth, and showing steady and strong momentum growth.
According to Euromonitor data, in 2021, the overall consumer market of athletic footwear in China has reach 371.8 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 19.1%. Since 2004, Nike and Adidas has been firmly occupied the first and second places in Chinese sports goods market for 17 consecutive years. The time come to 2021, the top list changed as following: Nike brand revenue in China was 52.02 billion yuan, Anta Sports with revenue of 49.33 billion yuan exceeded 34.34 billion yuan made by Adidas, Li Ning Group achieved 22.57 billion yuan of revenue, Xtep International 10.01 billion yuan.
If Anta Group can maintain current revenue growth in 2022, it looks likely to surpass Nike in China this year, becoming top one in the market share of sports shoes and clothing in China.
In recent years, the rise of domestic brands is based on strengthening of technological innovation, especially the R & D strength, the report shows the investment of Anta Sports on R & D reached 1.13 billion yuan, and increased by 2.3%.
